NAVAJO FRY BREAD
By Barbara Scott

3 cups flour
1 ½ t. baking powder
½ t. salt
1 1/3 cups warm water
oil for frying

Mix flour, baking powder and salt.  Add water and mix well.  Dough should be soft, but not sticky.  Knead until smooth and springy.  Tear off a chunk the size of a peach.  Roll out 6-8 inches in diameter. About ¼ inch thick.  Drop into sizzling hot fat. Brown on both sides. Drain and serve hot.  Good with honey.  Or good with hamburger, beans, cheese, lettuce tomatoes, onions and salsa on top.
