DELICIOUS APRICOT FRIED PIES

This recipe has never been measured. Ingredient amounts are guessed at. 

5 cups flour
2 T sugar
1 t salt
1 t baking powder
1 cup shortening
2 eggs
1 large can canned milk

Fat for deep frying.

Mix together all ingredients. Mix more than for biscuits, but don’t kneed like for yeast breads. Let dough set in bowl on cabinet for a few hours.  Then roll it out a little thinner than cinnamon rolls. Cut into circles about 6 inches in diameter. Fill with cooked fruit. A mixture of 3 parts apricots to 1 part pineapple is very good. Dried apricots cooked in a little water work well.

I think Grandma gave me this around 1990 but when I showed it to her around 2004 she said this is not how she does it.
