CHILI RELLENO SAUCE

2   8oz cans tomato sauce
½  onion  -  finely chopped 
1   clove garlic -  minced
1   T oil
chopped green chili optional
 
Sauté onion and garlic in oil. Add tomato sauce and simmer about 10 minutes. Add chopped green chilies if desired. Serve over cooked chili rellenos.
