ALBONDIGAS

2 lb. ground beef
1/2 c. bread or cracker crumbs
1 tsp. garlic salt
2 tsp. ground or crushed oregano
1 egg
8 oz. tomato sauce
1 tsp. onion powder
2 tsp. black pepper

Add meat, egg and 1/2 of each of the other ingredients in a bowl and mix thoroughly. Make balls of the meat mixture and set aside. In a pan, add 1 quart of water and the remaining tomato sauce with the rest of the dry seasonings and bring to a boil. Add the meat balls and cook until done. Good served with fresh sprigs of cilantro and fresh chopped green onion, and toasted french rolls.
